One of the recent MS/PhD projects from my group at the MIT Media Lab has gone commercialized: Topobo by Hayes Raffle and Amanda Parkes.

The unknown: Topobo has just been made available and I hope the cool project continues to build its storefront to include the following information.

• What to use it for: Companion education plan or materials? Party toys for lease? Corporate lobby items?
• Who’s bought it: Customer list, reviews and testimonials
• Packaging and storage
• Shipping and handling
• Warranty
• Customer service and repair
• Upgrade plan

Hope all the best for Topobo. It would be interesting to hear the rationale behind going commercial vs. not (e.g., I/O Brush) from the inventors someday!
